Shoulder, self-diagnosis. This is what I believe I have. Have had it now for a couple of weeks, although over the weekend when I was away, I didn't suffer too much with it, perhaps thats because I took many paracetamol due to too much alcohol and it helped my shoulder too, but now, yikes, it really hurts, can hardly drive, can barely move it. Most annoying and painful. Lack of sleep due to the pain doesnt help either.
Perhaps I will go to the GP, see if there is anything he can do. |

AM back from my weekend away to Butlins, Bognor Regis, Disco Inferno weekend. What a laugh, have not had so much fun for years. From start to finsih we had a brilliant time but so so tired now. We dressed up on the Saturday night, most people did, and they dressed as anything and everything. We just ate drank and partied the whole time. Met up with a lovely group of guys who were such gents and really really funny. My friend liked one of them and I think they will see each other again as they only live a few miles from us, which was strange. I wasnt looking forward to going too much as I thought it would be really tacky but the accomodation was very good, the food was good too and the alcohol in abudance.
Would certainly recommend. |

Tonight is Halloween as you all obviously know. Years ago (many) when I was a child, there was no fuss made of Halloween although my friends and I always went trick and treating, utilising whatever we could in those days to make a costume. Usually out of a sheet which we just cut eye holes in and a black bin bag. A lot of the fun was making these costumes. Also on firework night we used to sit outside the local shops having made a Guy out of whatever we could find also and sing penny for the Guy. We used to make quite a bit of money , not surprising as we would sit there all day. We kept half the money and donated the rest to the blind, as we liked putting the money in those big plastic dogs.
How things change now. Shops are full of costumes, make up, jewellery, ornaments, sweets and everything spooky to celebrate (I use the word lightly) Halloween. I am working tonight anyway but am sure that when I finish at one in the morning, I will be seeing some faces which resemble zombies, and speak like them too. My Boss wont have to dress up as he resembles a grave digger at the best of times. When Halloween is over with we then have firework night and then Christmas. I may be showing my age but when I was a child, these occasions were totally what we made them and not what we are pressured to make them. No, I dont say Bah Humbug at Christmas. |

I could stand up for myself more. Take work for example. Another member of staff practically begged me to swap shifts for the last two weeks, which I did. On Saturday night my Boss asked me why I was working tonight again and not doing the Friday. I didn't really give him an answer so he said sort yourself out, I dont want you working Saturdays, stick to your Fridays please. I should have explained that the other member of staff wanted to swap but he doesnt like her and is looking for any excuse to sack her. I didnt want to tell tales but there again why should the finger be pointed at me, and how petty anyway.
Another night I worked and put my wages (we pay ourselves) on the side beside the till. Took the money from the till and put it in the safe, Came back and 20 pounds of my money had gone. there was only myself and two customers in the place. They obviously hadnt touched it but it had disappeared. I was so angry and frustrated that I almost cried. One of the customers even offered me 20 pounds but I of course refused as that was not the point. I left a note for the Manager the next day but will I see my 20 pounds, not likely. I couldnt take it out of the money I had cashed up as the taking would have been down, so I went without and basically worked for very very little. Sometime I wish I could be a little bit more confident and arrogant even, these types of people seem to do much better in life. Sorry if I am moaning. lol. |

worked last night, 7 hours on my feet, no break and with a painful shoulder. Don't get any thanks for it, wish I had phoned in sick, especially as the woman I work with is a bit of a bully and the customers can be rude.
Still, thats nothing, my best friend has had her husband just walk out on her, her kids are devastated, her washing machine is broken beyond repair and the boiler has packed up. I think I will buy her some flowers and chocolates to cheer her up.
